About Me
I’m a biochemist and hands-on manufacturing professional with more than 40 years of experience across a wide range of industries, combining laboratory science with practical process development and manufacturing expertise. I’ve seen my share of gimmicks, scams, and marketing brainstorms that amount to little more than throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks.
I’ve developed a no-nonsense approach to skincare—one grounded in science, practical experience, and a clear understanding of how ingredients and formulations actually work. The goal is simple: create skincare that makes sense for your skin and your needs.
Experience
My background includes studies in human anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and the biological sciences, along with extensive experience as a bench chemist and in process development, scale-up, pilot-plant operations, manufacturing, and process improvement. I have also worked with medical devices, FDA requirements, and cGMP systems, giving me a strong appreciation for the connection between science, quality, regulatory compliance, and real-world production..
Currently
Today, I work for a contract manufacturing company, where my responsibilities span formulation development, process development, scale-up, batch making, and manufacturing management. I particularly enjoy taking an idea or laboratory formulation and figuring out how to turn it into a consistent, efficient, manufacturable product.
Sparetime
Outside of the laboratory and manufacturing floor, I’ve been an avid cyclist for decades. I’ve enjoyed everything from bicycle commuting and mountain-bike racing to cyclocross and relaxed beach cruising. I also enjoy kayaking, cooking, BBQing, and simply spending time outdoors and enjoying fresh air.
I’m fortunate to have a wonderful and supportive wife, and I value the balance between a career built around science and manufacturing and a life filled with family, outdoor activities, good food, and new experiences.
